Meet the Team

Sheri Mandirola

President and General Manager

I am pleased and honored to announce that I am the new President and General Manager of NE SEED COMPANY INC. It is truly exciting to step into this role and continue the company’s strong legacy of providing high-quality seed products and dependable service. I am grateful for the opportunity to build on the foundation that has been established, and I look forward to working closely with our customers, partners, and our team as we move into this next chapter together. As a 10th generation Connecticut farmer and specifically a cut flower farmer, I bring a vast knowledge of the flower industry here to NE SEED COMPANY INC. My husband, Paul and I have three beautiful boys, and we spend our free time with them watching their various sporting events and activities.

Jonathan Griffin

Owner

I am proud and excited to announce that I am the new owner of NE SEED COMPANY INC. I am eager to carry the business forward into its next chapter. This transition comes as Ted Willard has made the decision to retire, and we are sincerely grateful for his many years of leadership, dedication, and contributions to NE SEED COMPANY. Ted and his incredible staff have built the strong foundation and trusted reputation the company enjoys today, and we wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement. I am a 10th generation vegetable farmer myself and am excited to join this exceptional organization and honored to work alongside the growers and professionals who make up the seed industry. My wife Lisa and I have two wonderful children, and we enjoy spending time together on the family farm.

Maureen Maturo

I have a backyard farm with many chickens, ducks, cats and one crazy border collie dog! I’m bubbly and full of zippity-do-da!!! I’m so lucky to have the whole family involved in the planting and growing of the garden and farm chores. I have one daughter and I’m proud of her in many ways from her growing skills in the garden to skills of everyday life. She is my sunshine.

Janet Bishop

I am the latest transplant to the company’s employee garden. My plot is in the office with Sheri and Jonathan, yet I often migrate outside those walls to assist, as needed, in the warehouse. Every year I attempt to have a vegetable garden in my small home yard. My favorite vegetable plant varies every year depending on the volunteer plants that emerge from my compost pile. I’ve had great success with eggplants, cherry tomatoes and various squashes. Sunflowers have become one of my favorite flowers because I enjoy watching the show of all the birds and bees that flutter around them. The Lemon Queen variety does a fabulous job of hiding the stark white fence.

Gwen Lawson

I love living on the small farm that has been in my family for 5 generations…just across the pond from Maureen! It keeps me running all year long…In the Spring I keep busy chasing the wild turkeys out of my extra-large garden filled with NE Seed’s newest varieties! In the summer, I am loading the hay wagon and chasing woodchucks to keep them from digging holes in the fields! After Thanksgiving, I am jogging in place to keep warm while selling Christmas trees outside in New England.
