In 1987, long time friends, Ted Willard and Dennis McGlynn decided to put their agricultural and sales expertise together and go into the seed company business for themselves. Their goal was to create a line of high quality, chemical-free seed products at a reasonable price. Since then, NE Seed has provided commercial growers and home gardeners with the vegetable, flower, and herb seed varieties they need at the farm and at the table. Conventional, Organic, Heirloom and Hybrid seed varieties are carefully chosen and tested for quality before they can carry the NE Seed label.

In 2007, after 20 years in business for both companies, NE Seed and D. Palmer Seed merged. The result of this merger created NE Seed’s sister company DP Seeds LLC. DP Seeds LLC. is a commercial hybrid vegetable seed company dedicated to providing seeds of the highest quality to commercial vegetable growers worldwide. Their close relationships with independent breeders enables them to offer dependable, proven hybrid seeds with features such as such as improved disease resistance, increased uniformity and higher yields.

This merger has given both companies added strength in the market and provides us the capabilities to directly ask our breeders to add market specific varieties.
