Description
(2-3′) Common milkweed has lavender to pink flowers from late spring through mid-summer. They are beautifully fragrant. The plants will spread and fill in where there is bare soil.

Asclepias do not transplant well. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Mature plants are drought tolerant and can also take occasional flooding. They are good rain garden plants. They are a food source for Monarch butterfly caterpillars. Native to northeastern North America.
