Watermelon SeedsStandard Watermelon VarietiesStandard varieties have seed and are diploid. Sow seeds directly into
packs, peat pots or directly in the field. 3-4 lbs. per acre. Well
drained soil is best, plants need adequate water from seeding until they
start blooming.
Seedless Watermelon Varieties
Seedless varieties are triploid. They should be started in the
greenhouse and transplanted when soil temperature in the field are 65ºF.
Seedless watermelons need a pollinator variety planted with them.
Seedless watermelons require special attention. They must be started indoors. Start at the same time as your pollinator variety (packet of sugar baby gratis with your order).
