Summer squash is easy -to-grow, matures quickly, and produces lots of low-calorie, versatile fruits. The straight, slender fruits of this variety have pale yellow skin and creamy yellow flesh. Yields are high and fruits are easy to pick because of a semi-open plant habit. Use raw in salads and with dips or steamed, fried and baked. Freezes well.

Sowing: Direct seed at about the frost free date into rich, fertile soil. Usually sown in groups ("hills") of 4-6 seeds and thinned to the 2 strongest plants per group.
Care: Water regularly and fertilize when 6" (15cm) tall.
Harvest: Pick continuously when fruit is 5-7 (12.5-17.5 cm) long. Use a knife or shears.

FROM OUR SEED CATALOG:
  • Fruits are attractive, lemon yellow, tapering towards the stem end. 12”-14” long but tender and succulent at 5”-6” long. Vigorous, leafy, bushy plants producing heavily. 42 days.

    175-300/oz. 10 days, 72F. Sow directly into peat pots or packs and flats. Germinate, then grow on at 70°F. Will have a saleable plant in about 3-5 weeks.
