Zucchini is the most popular type of summer squash. And for good reason, as it is easy to grow, producing a generous crop of delicately flavored fruits all season long. The fruit is delicious when baked, boiled, fried, steamed or raw and when used in a variety of recipes. Zucchini can be frozen.

Sowing: Select sunny location and plant in late spring after soil warms. Soil should be cultivated, enriched with vegetable food and organic matter, firmed over the seed and keep moist.
Care: Keep soil moist and feed monthly. Do not worry when first blossoms fail to set fruit.
Harvest: Pick continuously when fruit is 5-7" (13-18cm) long and 1-1 1/2" (3-4cm) thick for best flavor and to extend the plant is growing season.

  • light and dark-green, striped fruit. 50 days.

    175-300/oz. 10 days, 72F. Sow directly into peat pots or packs and flats. Germinate, then grow on at 70°F. Will have a saleable plant in about 3-5 weeks.
