Low-growing plants with succulent stems and leaves are covered with jewel-bright flowers. Colors include white and shades of yellow, orange, pink, violet, scarlet and bicolors. Plants are easy to grow and are excellent in hot, sunny locations. Use for edging, in rock gardens, hanging baskets, and between stepping-stones.

Plant: Direct seed 1-2 weeks before last frost; or sow indoors 4-6 weeks earlier. Firm soil over seeds and keep moist.
Care: Tolerate heat and some drought. But does best when watered. Fertilize when first blooms open.
Tip: Reseeds where adapted.
