Long and Oriental favorite, edible-podded peas are noted for their crunchy but tender edible flat pods with small, succulent edible seed inside, Serve unshelled, fresh in salads, with dips, steamed or stir fried. Good for freezing. Grows best in cold weather.

Sowing: plants grow best if seeds are treated with inoculants before sowing. Plant only into well-drained soil. Direct seed as soon as the soil can be worked in the spring. Replant at 3-week intervals until mid-spring.
Care: Water regularly and fertilize when 4" (10cm) tall. Provide a support about 60" (150cm) tall.
Harvest: Pick while pods are still nearly flat, just as peas begin to bulge. Hold vine while picking to avoid damaging it.
Your Health: A good source of fiber, minerals, vitamins A and C and some of the B vitamins.
