PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Our Italian Salad Seed Collection includes:

50205 Arugula Wild Child Pkt.
Our own selection of Arugula (Wild Rocket). This is a herbaceous plant found in the wild in Italy. Wild Child has thin, serrated leaves which are bright-green in color and have an intense aroma. Owing to its strong but pleasant flavor it is particularly suitable for mixed salads or on pizzas. The plant grows well in any type of soil and requires little care.

50025 Beet Piatta d'Egitto 1/2 oz.
This is an all purpose beet with extraordinarily deep red coloring. The roots are twice as wide as they are deep. Great for spring and fall plantings. It can also be planted in cold frames for overwintering and will not become woody. 50 days.

50070 Chicory Mix Pkt.
This is a mix of every kind of heading chicory and some leaf chicories. It can be planted any time soil temperatures are 65-70F.

50085 Cucumber Tortarello VS Pkt.
This is botanically a melon but the fruit tastes like a cucumber and is used like a cucumber. The fruit is tender and easier to digest than true cucumbers. It is bitter free and harvested when 9" long. It is long and dark green with spineless skin. The plants are productive vines. May take a few days longer to germinate than true cucumbers. 58 days.

50130 Misticanza 1/4 oz.
This is a mix of "cut & come again" type lettuces, chicories and arugulas. Cut the leaves when they reach 3-4" tall. They regrow quickly.

50175 Pepper Marconi Rosso Pkt.
These large sweet peppers are 8" long and 3" wide. They are green ripening to deep red and are delicious at all stages. Excellent raw, grilled and stuffed. They are very uniform and the plants are prolific. 80 days.

50200 Radish Flamboyant Pkt.
This cylindrical radish is tasty and tender. The roots are bright red with a white tip. The leafy tops are very short. 30 days.

50245 Tomato Crovarese Pkt.
(3/4 oz.) This is a sweet and tangy grape tomato with soft skin. It is great for those who don't like thick skin on tomatoes. The tomatoes grow in clusters and can be eaten fresh or canned whole. The productive plants are drought and disease tolerant. Because the skin is soft in years with heavy rain or wild swings in soil moisture the fruit can split. 70 days.

50155 Parsley Gigante Catalogno Pkt.
Flat leaf form of popular, easy-to-grow garden herb. Slightly richer flavor than curled parsley. Grows well in containers.
