Each plant produces several tall, stately flower spikes, providing a strong vertical accent in the flower garden. The individual florets are spotted inside and come in an array of soft colors. Use near the back of mixed flower borders or in naturalized settings.

Plant: In harsh winter areas, sow near mid-July; early September is fine where winters are short and mild. In either case, thin to final spacing 8 to 10 weeks after sowing.
Care: Water regularly and fertilize when spring growth begins. After flowering, remove spikes to encourage second blooming.
Tip: Biennials bloom the second year, produce seeds and die.
