Plants produce a heavy crop of delicious blue-green sprouts that are extremely cold hardy. Frost improves flavor. Plant in early spring for a fall crop n the North. The vitamin-rich heads are delicious when used fresh or frozen.
Sowing: Plant seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Keeping soil temperature in the mid-70's. Grow in full sun. Shift hardened transplants to garden shortly after last frost. Care: Water regularly and fertilize every 4-6 weeks. Harvest: As sprouts develop from bottom, break off lower leaves to encourage heavier production. Your Health: More Vitamin C than an orange. Also high in vitamins A, B and B2, Calcium, Iron and Potassium.
