A contained plant with medium-sized grayish-green foliage and soft, fleshy scale leaves. The large globe-shaped artichokes are greenish-purple in color. The artichoke bed lasts for 4-5 years. A percentage of plants grown from seed always produce small prickly fruits that should be removed.

Sowing: In February and March in the green house. Replant outdoors in a sunny position in well-fertilized and tilled soil in May and September.

ESPAÑOL:
Planta de tamaño contenido con hojas de grosor medio, de color verde-gris, con escamas tiernas y carnosas. Los frutos son gruesos y en forma de globo de color verde-violeta. La alcachofa dura 4-5 años. Las plantas obtenidas con semilla dan siempre un porcentaje de plantas con unos frutos pequeños y espinosos que deben ser eliminados.

Siembra: Se efectúa de febrero a marzo en vivero para trasplantar en mayo y septiembre, a una posición soleada y en un terreno perfectamente abonado y trabajado.
